Central Illinois Poultry Processing (CIPP) was established in 1995 when Andy Jess and his family began processing poultry on their farm three miles south of Arthur, Illinois. Over time, the business grew, and today, CIPP employs approximately 25 people and processes about 3,000 chickens per day.

For many years, CIPP has offered custom processing services for the small grower alongside our business of producing and wholesaling quality chicken products. While we still offer limited custom processing at this time, our focus is shifting more to our own production and meeting the demands of our wholesale customers. This creates more opportunities to partner with local family farms to raise this poultry in a wholesome environment.

Our slaughter plant is USDA inspected, and the birds are humanely slaughtered using a stun knife. A semi-automated line carries the birds to various workstations. Once the birds are fully cleaned, they are placed in water-chilled tanks to cool until they reach a temperature below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. We vacuum-package our poultry products in shrink bags, which are then stored in our cooler or freezer, depending on the customer’s needs. Every week, we supply fresh, tasty chicken to our retailers.
